Who we are

We are IRONVOLT. We are responsible for the personal information we use to run our store, fulfil orders and provide customer support.

Information we use

• Orders and accounts: your name, contact details, delivery and billing addresses, order history, account details and preferences.
• Payments: transaction details, payment status and information supplied through our payment providers. Do not send full card details or passwords by email or through our contact forms.
• Customer support and warranty claims: messages, proof of purchase, order references, details of the affected tool, photos or video you send, and the outcome of your enquiry or claim. Please avoid including unrelated personal information in photographs.
• Website activity: IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, interactions and cookie identifiers, depending on the services used and your privacy choices.
• Marketing and reviews: subscription preferences, consent records and reviews or other content you choose to submit.

We receive information directly from you, through your interaction with the store, and from providers involved in payment, delivery and support. Information needed to process an order or assess a claim is necessary for those services; without it we may be unable to complete them. Marketing subscriptions are optional.

Why we use information

• To take payment, fulfil orders, manage returns and provide warranty support: to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request before entering a contract.
• To maintain financial records and comply with legal requirements: to meet legal obligations.
• To respond to enquiries, protect the store, investigate fraud and resolve disputes: our legitimate interests in running a secure business and providing customer support, balanced against your rights.
• To send marketing: consent, or a permitted existing-customer exception where all legal requirements are met. You can unsubscribe at any time. Where the existing-customer exception applies, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in promoting relevant products.
• For Google Analytics: to understand how visitors use our website, using consent where required for the relevant cookies and processing.

Cookies, analytics and email marketing

Cookies and similar technologies can keep the basket and checkout working, support security, remember choices and measure visits. The legal rules and consent requirements depend on the purpose of the technology.

We use Google Analytics to understand website usage, such as which pages visitors use and how they reach our store. Google may receive device, browser, page and interaction information. Read how Google uses information from websites using its services. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Email marketing uses your contact details and subscription preferences to send offers and updates; unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email.

Our Shopify cookie banner lets UK visitors choose whether to accept optional cookies. To change a previously saved choice, use any available cookie-preferences control, or clear this website’s cookies in your browser and revisit the store to make a new choice. Contact us if you need help. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from making a purchase.

You can also manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect basket, account or checkout features. A privacy notice does not itself replace consent where consent is required.

Who receives information

We share information needed to operate the store with Shopify, payment providers, delivery providers, and providers supporting our website and customer communications. Relevant professional advisers and authorities may receive information where needed to meet legal obligations, handle disputes or protect legal rights. Google Analytics and our email delivery and subscription-management providers receive information relevant to the purposes described above.

When you submit a review for publication, its review text and the display name you choose may be visible to other visitors. Do not put private contact details in a public review.

Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to operate the platform and, for some purposes, acts independently under its own privacy terms. See the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify Privacy Portal for details and rights relating to Shopify’s processing.

Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled on our store. Shopify uses information about interactions with our store alongside information from other merchants and Shopify to provide enhanced services, including fraud prevention, personalisation and advertising-related features. For these purposes, Shopify is responsible for its processing and for handling relevant privacy-rights requests. Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy and Privacy Portal explain those uses and choices. Consent requirements and your recorded privacy choices apply where relevant.

International processing

Shopify and other providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, transfers must be covered by a UK adequacy regulation or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual protections. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your information.

How long information is kept

Retention depends on the purpose: fulfilling orders and dealing with returns; meeting tax and accounting obligations; resolving disputes; and administering eligible lifetime warranty claims. Warranty records may need to be kept longer than routine enquiries, but unrelated information should not be kept just because a warranty exists.

Marketing preferences are kept while needed to manage subscriptions; a limited suppression record may be retained to respect an unsubscribe request. Cookie retention depends on the particular technology. We assess retention against these purposes, applicable record-keeping requirements, the time needed to resolve disputes and whether the information remains necessary. Information is deleted or anonymised when no longer needed, subject to lawful retention obligations.

Your choices and rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restricted use, or a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

You can object to direct marketing at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Order and service messages may still be sent when needed.

Email team.iv@ironvolts.com to exercise your rights. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity and will respond within the applicable legal timescale, normally one month. Rights may be subject to lawful exceptions.

Security and automated decisions

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Contact us promptly if you suspect misuse of your account, and keep your login information private.

Payment providers and Shopify may use automated fraud and security checks under their own notices. If a payment or order is blocked and you believe this is a mistake, contact us so we can investigate and explain the available next steps.

Children and external websites

Our store is not directed at children. If you believe a child has provided information to us inappropriately, contact us so we can investigate. Other websites, including linked or embedded services, have their own privacy notices.

Complaints and updates

Please contact us if you have a concern about your information. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. You do not need our permission to do so.

We may update this notice to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. We will update the date above and provide additional notice where required.
